You agreed with clay, in this thread, that Taylor Mays was overrated and would go higher than he should. Now he is a sleeper? Interesting logic.
And I could give you the reasons Crompton COULD be an NFL starter but I won't bore you with the facts.

I called Carlos Dunlap a sleeper in the text to Tyler..my texts were in order of "sleeper" and "carlos dunlap sleeper" ..the first sent when i wasnt done typing and as i received a text from tyler about Taylor Mays...im not a taylor mays fan and obviously from my post a few days ago thats clear.........Yea your reasons for Crompton will not change my mind on him.....either way heres my big value picks for tom..pretty much the guys I like a lot..
Tony Pike---don't see him going tom but the guy can play Jonathan Dwyer- could have easily been a first rounder Golden Tate- small but has big play ability..could be used like percy harvin maybe?...not as good carrying the ball but better receiving skills Carlos Dunlap--this is a guy who was top 10 pick before his dui fiasco before the sec championship..could be a steal if he decides he wants to be a great player

Haha Dwyer could not have easily been a first rounder. Honestly, I wouldn't be shocked if he doesn't get picked today at all. Carlos Dunlap would be a sleeper pick if Paul Tagliabue were still in charge of the NFL. With ol Roger in town, Dunlap won't last long in the NFL.

Assuming you read my post you all know how I feel about last night and the overwhelming theme of the night...Character matters. Dunlap got a DUI, he didn't rape anyone, kill anyone, or have a guitar case full of guns. College kids drink and make bad decisions. Everyone of the Sportsmen should drop on their knees right now and thank God we made it this far without getting a DUI, and I don't think any of us would be at risk of being banished from the NFL if we were potential draft picks. On the other hand he could end up like Koren Robinson and it comes out he's a raging alcoholic, and under "ol Rodger" teams can't take that risk. I personally think he'll be a phenomenal value wherever he goes and will be a good player in the league for a long time.
Dwyer was projected at one point to be in the first round, but the secondary theme of the evening (the NFL is a passing league) puts emphasis on different positions and caused him to slide. See the number of OT's (4) (, DT/DE/OLB's (10) and all but 2 (Suh and Williams are known as pass rushers), and DB's (7) taken.
Dwyer has a couple other big problems. 1. The Offense he was in. 2. The number of really good players left after the first round. I think the third and fourth round will be richer in talent (and by talent I mean productive college players with a high level of potential that have small imperfections in their stature or game) than any draft in the last several years.

also...kudos to pete carrol. I thought he did a really good job by taking the safer linemen pick than taking a risk with spiller and was pleasantly surprised he passed on taylor mays and took earl thomas.

Dunlap is a lot closer to Koren Robinson than maybe even Koren Robinson is. I think he had two or three instances at Florida. I'm interested to see if the Seahawks go with Dex or if they seem okay with Forsett and JJ at RB.

I def see the seahawks going after a rb...it would be interesting if that rb is dex simpy b/c they need a guy who could be an every down back (even though almost every team uses a 2 rb system now)...JJ is not that guy and i love having forsett as a number 2 option...

the more i think about it though..i do like the trio of jj forsett and dex..dex getting more touches than any of the others..while jj and forsett handle most rb duties

BOLD PREDICTION: Jonathan Crompton gets drafted tonight.
I'm almost willing to bet on it. If not tonight, he won't see the 5th round. Guaranteed.

I'll wager dinner at the Golden Corral on him going before the 4th round ends.

Do you think the Seahawks like Montario? He could be a beast, every down back in the league. Plus Lane Kiffin loved Hardesty and I am sure would be willing to give his opinions to Pete and his staff.
I like Dunlap. I would have been ok with the Titans taking Dez then trading up in the 2nd for Dunlap.
Crompton may or may not get picked tonight, but he will be an NFL starter if he has time to learn a system.

blount from oregon signed with 49ers....i guess i get the dixon in 6th round pick simply b/c hes a steal there but how much is this saying about how the 49ers feel about gore and coffee..maybe nothing but it seems like theyre loading up with young rb talent...these guys def arent just scrubs...they obviously don't trust gore's health issues

I don't know man, these days you gotta have 2 legit RBs to carry the load. With the way Singletary plans on poundin the rock, they're gonna need 3. I don't know (I doubt) if they plan on carryin 4 RBs. It'll be interesting to see who shakes out. Glenn Coffee could be the odd man out.
