The Steelers traded the Bucs a 7th rounder for Byron Leftwich. I feel like we won in that deal.

haha. Let Dennis Dixon and Mendenhall run the Illini/Oregon Option for 6 games. I couldn't care less if the Steelers win, but that would be fun to watch.

I am crazy to say the Rams should trade the top pick for Rothelisberger and the Steerlers first rounder?
You get a proven guy, and lets be honest during those 6 games he is suspended to start the year, are the Rams really going to win with Sam Bradford (who I am not big on anyways).
Any thoughts?

Not only do you get a proven guy as opposed to Sam Bradford, you don't have to deal with the pressure that comes along with having and QB as no. 1 pick. When do I play? When is too soon? We suck, so why doesn't he play now? Plus, you pay Big Ben less (probably, not positive on this) than you would Sam Bradford. Makes sense to me. Also, with Ben suspended with first 4-6 games, you can't convince me the Rams will win one of those games. So you have a head start on getting another #1 overall next year.
Reverse side, I think the Rams front office just got overhauled. They want their guy. They want to inspire a fan base, blahblah. Let's be honest, they don't want to deal with a "rapist" as the face of their franchise. Or the potential mullet.

can't stand mcnabb or rothliswhatever. always had ill feelings toward both. one blames it on everyone else, the other plays for the steelers and is the white pacman jones getting into everything and away with everything. it's about time goodell did something.
i'd rather have bradford in the long run. yeah there's always the chance he might not turn out (scouts gave alex smith unreal grades too, but he's coming on a little bit as of late), but as far as off the field issues, bradford is clean as they come.
i don't know what surprised me more though: tebow in the first round or mccoy going so late. i think mccoy will be good. go look at his numbers. andy irwin tried to argue with me that he wasn't as good as he looked, but every single year he had better numbers than bradford in completion percentage (and int's i think), and for those of you that don't know qb's are constantly being reminded of their completion percentage. it's usually the first stat the coach talks about after the game with film. when you're throwing above 70% you're straight ballin. 65 is considered good. mccoy was above 70 for three years i think. somebody check, i'm too lazy. i know he was for two.
my opinion of tebow is this, and this is likely to spark a nice debate: he is a very talented athlete. you can't "just do" the things he did on a regular basis at the highest levels of college football and be above average. he's considered by many to be one of if not the best college football players ever. i would have to agree. second, he works his a$$ off. people who combine talent with hard work, rarely fail. people with a great attitude and excellent "life skills" who have great talent and always try to work harder and learn more, will rarely fail. people who do these things and then are not afraid to proclaim God even more often than proclaiming hard work, never fail.
that's what these three have in common. your qb draft class of 2010 all come from Christian backgrounds, and i don't mean the "yeah i go to church" type. these dudes wear it and aren't afraid to. when you can say on national television about falling so far in the draft, "At the end of the day I know that God's plan is perfect and that I am where I'm supposed to be." takes some balls to say that live during the draft. tell rothliswhatever to stand up for something he'll stand up for himself and all these girls he keeps molesting.

I want to say a couple things about Colt. 1. And most importantly, he is a winner. 2. I do think he's a good qb, and if he came out any year that didn't have Tim Tebow in it would be my favorite player in the draft and I'd never shut up about him. 3. You have to be careful comparing Bradford's completion percentage to Colt's. I don't think these stats are available to the public so you'll have to take my word for it...Colt did have a higher completion percentage, but far more of his throws were short passes. Oklahoma's offense threw the ball down field and made a lot more mid-range throws than Texas. I think that skews his accuracy a little bit. Now in the West Coast offense (the Mike Holmgren Offense) that's fine. Colt can dink and dunk as well as anybody, but Bradford would be better suited for the vertical passing game. I think all three are good and I agree with Phippsy in that they may not be the best qb's ever, but it's hard for me to envision these guys failing.

yeah and i should have mentioned more about their offenses in comparison. though both teams have long history's of elite athletes, texas does throw a lot more screens and routes under 10 yards. this isn't to say mccoy is not as good as bradford, although sam does have a lot more of the prototypical stuff of nfl qbs. but mccoy is more of your brees type. quick thinker, quick release, and great at extending plays if he needs too and very comfortable throwing on the run. that isn't dangerous in the league, it's downright nasty bad.
the coaches constantly reminded us to be covered early, open late. we joked about taco bell with that. it's just what you do when you hear the same things day after day on the practice field; you find ways to make it funny. anyway, db's have to cover a wr for 2 seconds on avg. think about that. let it sink in. now think about covered early, open late. if a qb buys time, defenders are screwed. that's why the best receivers are often the best at finding a whole in the zone or coming back to the quarterback when he's in trouble. that's why vince young can have the throwing fundamentals of a donkey but still beat teams under pressure.
extending a play almost always results in a positive gain. unless you are running the ball which in that case look for the red WRONG WAY signs when debating whether or not to run backwards to get the first down.

History may have just been made...I don't think I can argue with anything Daniel Phipps just said. My world has been turned upside down.
