yea i can't say i disagree with you especially if they keep drafting so well...they have built this team through the draft and are building around KD..that showed this year when they drafted james harden instead of steph curry and tyreke evans...both of these guys are combo guards that would have taken shots away from kd and would have probably halted the development westbrook....i still believe theyre a few years away from being constant contenders but KD is on his way

Oklahoma City & Cleveland...not the same sweet ring as Boston and LA but that would be awesome if these two went at it for a decade or so...Now I don't wanna be too hard on the ONLY person who comments that's not a "Sportsmen", but I do have 1 BIG problem with Jay's comment...You my man should not be referring to the Great Charles Barkley as just "Charles". He should be referred to as 1) Sir Charles 2) Mr. Barkley 3)Round Mound of Rebound 4) The Great Sensei or 5)Emmy Award Winner Chucky B. In all seriousness...He is my favorite basketball player of all time. Flat out. Not sure it's even close. Go ahead and make your fat jokes.

I call him Chuck.
Lebron is an overrated poonannie. I'm not buying into the Thunder as a dominate team either. You can't "keep drafting well" when you aren't getting a top 5 pick every year. Their nucleus is now their nucleus and the 8th seed in the Western Conference is still the 8th seed in the Western Conference. Will they get better? Yes. Will they add another significant piece? I don't think so. We're a long way from calling the Thunder dominate, much less anointing them the next Lakers.
The team you are all leaving out are the Orlando Magic. I know Vinsanity may be getting old and Rashard Lewis isn't young, Jameer and Dwight are sensational. Only going to get better.

no one called the thunder dominate but rather that they should be considered contenders in a few years...and ill go ahead and strongly disagree with your assessment that you can't "keep drafting well" if you don't have a top 5 pick every year...use the spurs for example who have gotten gems in the past two drafts late... 2008-George Hill 1st rd 26th overall...we know how that worked out 2009-Dejaun Blair 2nd rd 36th overall...looks promising
i like the magic in the short term but as of right now i dont really like them in the long term...sure dwight and jameer are young but as you said the other glue players are not so they need to start adding either through FA or the draft
will you pull a KD or lebron or kobe out of the draft late in the first round or early second no but if theyre smart they will draft players who can contribute and are proven players...the thunders two best players are young so you have quite a few years to keep building around them

shit...i compared OKC and Cleveland in the near future to the 80's LA & Boston...I think they'll be dominate.

So yes "mikethadude," someone was calling the Thunder "dominant." Say what you will for the age of the Magic, but they have a ton of money invested in Vince and Rashard. No shortage of stud free agents will be lining up to play with a high quality PG, and a dominant big man that commands a double team on every touch. When Vince and and Rashard move on, there will be plenty of star wings/shooters/swingmen to sign. I'm not knockin' Durant, but no NBA star is clamoring to play with him. Nor will they ever be.
Name someone besides the Spurs who have continually pulled players from the end of the 1st round.
2007 - 2 & 5 - Durant & Green 2008 - 4 - Westbrook 2009 - 3 - Harden
Pretty easy to do.

high quality pg for jameer is a stretch but hes good...jameer isnt the guy thats going to bring FA's in itll be dwight howard...and if by "clamoring to play" with Durant you mean talking about it in the newspapers then no theyre not ..just like no one is clamoring to play with dwight in orlando...thats b/c neither team has any money to spend this summer on max contracts....also all of the lebron clique (wade, anthony, bosh, dwight) wants to play together and honestly durant isnt a part of their clique...as gay as that may sound i feel its true
Utah Jazz Ronnie Brewer 14th pick Paul Millsaps 47th pick Eric Maynor 20th pick Ronnie Price Undrafted

Hmm, the Spurs and Jazz. Seems like two of very, very (the only two) few teams to contend every single season without signing max players.
You obviously missed my point of the FA's. When Vince and Rashard are gone, the Magic will have plenty of money to sign a max player. When the Oklahoma City Durants are paying Durant a max salary and even if they have money to sign one, a max player isn't going to want to sign there and watch Durant shoot the ball. I'm not hating on the Thunder. They just aren't and won't be the premier team in the Western Conference without something drastic happening. I feel like people are buying way too much into them winning two home playoff games against at team that didn't really care. Are they good? Yeah. Will they get better? No doubt. Will they "run things"? Never.

i get your point about free agents loud and clear...its always easier to sign with big guy b/c you know your shots are always going to be available as a guard..the ball has to go through you...the thunder wont need a max guard for a long time b/c of westbrook durant and possibly harden if he pans out...i think youd be crazy to say that a max big guy would not want to play with durant
and lets face it i def don't think the thunder will run things bc wade melo dwight and bron are all still in their prime and as long a theyre around i dont see any one team consistently running things in the nba including lebron (void this statement if 2 of them end up on the same team after this summer)
by the way my point about building through the draft is that they don't need star players...they need role players now...and i can go through every team in the last 5 to 7 years who has gotten a role player that has turned out to be great for that specific team and got drafted late...they need a serviceable big man to put next to ibaka and its not a stretch to say that you can probaby find a project or get lucky and have a guy thats ready rebound n defend fall to you....they took a chance on BJ mullens this year and he could def still develop into that big guy for them
